JAMMU, Sept 20: Nirvana Academy organized a National Environment Awareness Campaign (NEAC) Programme on the theme ‘Biodiversity Conservation’ at Bhartiya Shiksha Kendra Domana, here.
Madan Lal Sharma, former Member of Parliament was the chief guest on the occasion, while Vikrant Dogra, vice president Federation of Indian Blood Donors organization (FIBDO), Vikas Dogra, vice president Prayas were the guests of honour and  Shamsher Singh Sarpanch Domana, Shamsher Singh Chib Sarpanch Nagbani, Raj Singh Chairman BSK Domana were the special guest on the occasion.
Programme commenced with a tree plantation drive in which Madan Lal, other guests and students planted saplings of local medicinal plants, which was followed by lighting of lamp by the chief guest.
Welcome speech was presented by Sandhya Pathania, Principal of Bhartiya Shiksha Kender School.  Ashok Pandita and Sohan Lal delivered lecture on the theme ”Biodiversity Conservation” under NEAC.
During the awareness programme, a skit on deforestation was presented by the children of Bhartiya Shiksha Kendra Domana, choreographed and directed by Nrityashree Deepak Dutta, which was followed by a Dogri short play “My Love for Birds” written and directed by Tarun Sharma.
Poem recital and debate programme on environmental issues were also presented on the occasion. A group song on the theme “Save Trees” was the main highlight of the programme.
Madan Lal Sharma appreciated the performance of the participants and distributed certificates among the participants. Nrityashree Deepak Dutta co-ordinated and anchored the programme.
