JAMMU, Mar 20: Stylish opening batsman, Nipun Verma helped Jammu Gymkhana Club register a thrilling last ball win over Christian Sports Organization (CSO) in the ongoing 2nd Christmas Cricket T20 Cup, being organized jointly by Range Police Headquarters Jammu and Christian Sports Organization, J&K at KC Sports Club Ground, here.
Batting first, Jammu Gymkhana scored a fighting total of 139 runs in 16 overs for the loss of 3 wickets. Nipun Verma scored unbeaten 62 runs off 51 balls, while Jagandeep Singh and Sandeep Singh contributed 20 and 17 runs to the total respectively. Rippan, Nitu and Neeraj shared one wicket each for CSO.
In reply, CSO Club lost the match in the last over as they required 11 runs to win and could manage only 9 runs, thus lost the match by one run. Danny scored 46 runs, while Vishal and Vinod contributed 25 and 18 runs to the total. Akash Choudhary and Sahil took 2 wickets each for Jammu Gymkhana, while Rahul, Hitesh and Amar claimed 1 wicket each. Nipun Verma was adjudged man of the match.
The tournament is being organized under the overall supervision of the Shakeel Beig, DIG Jammu, while the other organizing committee members include Rajnish Pran SP SO to DIG, Hilal Rather, MD Simula, Prashant Mahajan and Rajesh Gill, Chief Prosecuting Officers, Victor Sotra, vice president CSO, Asif Gill, David Mattoo, Sunny Gill and William Mattoo. The match was officiated by Sunil Sambyal, Naresh and Vishal Sharma.
