NHPC T-20 Power Cup-2022 concludes

Winning team being awarded with a trophy by dignitaries at New Delhi on Monday.

New Delhi, June 13: Powergrid team won T-20 Power Cup-2022 by defeating NTPC by six wickets in the finals match, organised by NHPC at NMAKP Sports Complex Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi.
Ashish Upadhyay, Additional Secretary and Financial Advisor, Ministry of Power, Govt of India along with AK Singh, CMD, NHPC, Manoj Kumar Singh, PS to Union Minister of Power, New and Renewable Energy, VK Singh, Director (Personnel), Powergrid and RP Goyal, Director (Finance), NHPC presented winning trophy to Powergrid team, while NTPC and Ministry of Power finished as 1st and 2nd runner-up teams respectively.
About nine teams including MOP, NHPC, NTPC, Powergrid, CEA, IREDA, REC, EESL and PFC had participated in Power Cup, hosted by NHPC at New Delhi.
During the valedictory function, the individual players of different teams were also awarded for their outstanding performance during the tournament.
Speaking on the occasion, Upadhyay congratulated both the winning and runner-up teams for a thrilling match and further praised all the participating teams for their excellent competitive performance and sportsman spirit.
In his address, AK Singh, CMD, NHPC said that this tournament brought together leading Power CPSUs under the Ministry of Power on one platform which is essential in strengthening the ties between all the Power PSUs.
The T-20 cricket tournament was hosted by NHPC from May 22 to June. The tournament witnessed large-scale exciting cricketing action in 20 matches.
Rahul Mani from PFC, Amit Meena from MOP and Arun Khatkar from Powergrid were declared as ‘Best Batsman’, ‘Best Bowler’ and ‘Best Player’ of the tournament respectively amongst the other awards conferred for the tournament.
