National U-10 Chess C’ship enters 8th round

JAMMU, Apr 29: Madhvendra Pratap Sharma of Madhya Pradesh emerged sole leader at seven point after seven rounds by displaying some brilliant display of Chess in the ongoing 34th MPL Nationaal Under-10 Chess Championship at Kangra Fort Banquet Hall, Barnai, here today.
The championship is being organised by All J&K Chess Association in collaboration with MPL Sports Foundation and Hob Space.
Madhvendra Pratap Sharma is closely followed by Aansh of Maharashtra, Sanjay of Tamil Nadu and Apaar Saxena of Karnataka in open section, while in girls section Hanya Shah of Gujarat and Charvi A of Karnataka are jointly leading at 6.5 points each after seven rounds of the game.
Earlier, the 7th round was jointly inaugurated by Chief Prosecution Officer Raj Kumar and Principal Mohinder Sharma, while the 8th round was inaugurated by Kuljeet Singh Jamwal, vice-president of AJKCA. They wished good luck to the players.
Dr AS Bhatia HoD Bio Sciences GMC Jammu, Raj Kumar, Chief Prosecution Officer, Baldev Raj vice president AJKCA, Ajit Singh, Ranjeet Singh and Arvindu Districts Association members and Advocate Himani Kohli were present on the occasion.
Crown trust is organizing this event under the banner of All J&K Chess Association with the support of J&K Sports Council. Ashok Singh, Divisional Sports Officer also encouraged the players during the event.
Dr Vipnesh Bhardwaj, an international arbiter from Chandigarh is chief arbiter of the event along with 10 other arbiters.
