Hyderabad, July 24:
South Central General(SCR) Additional General Manager K L Pandey today declared open the 10th Men and 4th Women All India Railway Power Lifting Championships at the Railway Sports Complex here today.
South Central Railway Sports Association (SCRSA) is organizing the championship which will end on July 26.
Addressing participants from various Railway Zones, Mr.Pandey exhorted them to display sportiveness in the events.
As many as 13 teams are taking part in the championship.Many players of International and National stature will be seen in action during this championship, SCR said in a release here.
During this championship, the Indian Railways team probables would be selected for the forthcoming National Championship.
Results on 1st Day Events: (Squat, Bench-press & Dead lift):- Category: 66 KG Men: S Arun of Integral Coach Factory secured first place while R Murugan of Western Railway stood second and Santosh Bandre of Central Railway the third place.
Category: 59 KG Men: P Suresh of Western Railway secured first place, GM Neelamurugan of Southern Railway stood second while third place was secured by T V Madhavan of Integral Coach Factory.
