*Game Swingers outplays Rising Stars

JAMMU, Feb 2: Social activist and chairman Nirbhay Bharat, Tarun Uppal inaugurated a mega women cricket event -‘Nari Shakti Cricket Prityogita’, being organised by Royal Women Cricket Club (RWCC) under the supervision of Dr Roopali Slathia and Veena Sharma at MA Stadium, here today.
The chief guest was accompanied by Rajesh Dhar and Naveen Koul as the guests of honour. Uppal while lavishing praise on the organisers encouraged the participants with his motivational speech.
In the first match played today, Game Swingers got the better of Rising Stars by 5 wickets in a low scoring match.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, Rising Stars scored a paltry total of 61 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Sapna top scored with 17 runs, while Sarla contributed 14 runs to the total. For Game Swingers Lali Jan and Sania captured three wickets each.
In reply, Game Swingers chased the target easily by losing five wickets, thus won the match by five wickets. Sandhya top scored with 20 runs, while Aditi contributed 15 runs to the total. For Rising Stars, Ananya took two wickets, while Pushpa, Rifat and Nimami claimed one wicket each.
Prominent among others who assisted the organisers as officials and resource persons included Satika, Meenu, Jyoti, Surekha, Ashima, Richa and Pooja.
