JAMMU, May 6: Nandita Khajuria of class 1st of Presentation Convent clinched Under-7 and Under-9 girls titles in the Jammu Division Chess Tournaments in the age groups of Under-7, Under-9, Under-11and Under-13 boys and girls, organized by Jammu District Chess Association, which concluded at ACE Chess Academy, Trikuta Nagar, here today.
Vijay Kumar Gupta, Development Councilor, Trikuta Nagar and Shub Chander Verma, Ex-corporator Trikuta Nagar distributed the prizes among the winners on the valedictory function.
Atul Kumar Gupta, president, All J&K Chess Association; Baldev Raj, vice-president; Taranvir Singh Gujral, coordinator; Tej Ram Choudhary, owner of ACE Chess Academy and Vijay Choudhary were present on the occasion.
Sumit Grover was the chief arbiter of this event, in which 85 players participated in 4 categories.
According to the organizers, one player from this event in each category and one from Kashmir division will represent J&K State in the forthcoming Nationals to be held at different States of India.
Earlier, in Under-7 boys, Divyam Gupta of K V Sunjwan drubbed Harshdev  of J P world, while in Under-7 girls, Nandita Khajuria of Presentation convent defeated Bhavneet of J P World to win the title.
In Under-9 boys, Divay Jain of K C International bagged the first place, while Divyam Gupta of K V Sunjwan stood second, while in Under-9 girls, Nandita of Presentation Convent outplayed Tamana in an easy contest.

Under-11Girls: Arushi Kotwal (BSF Paloura), 1st ; Nirbhika Khajuria (Presentation Convent), 2nd.
Under-13 Boys: Vilakshan Mehta, 1st; Navdeep Singh (DPS), 2nd.
Under-13 Girls: Meenal Gupta (K V Sunjwan), 1st; Arushi Kotwal (BSF Paloura), 2nd.
