Nagrotra Wrestler Muneer lifts 18th Ser Sundwan Kesari Dangal Title

KATRA, Sept 17: Nagrota Wrestler Muneer Khan lifted 18th Annual Ser Sundwan Kesari Dangal Title by defeating Wrestler Ranjeet Singh of J&K Police in the main first malli bout that lasted for 17 minutes at Government High School Ser Sundwan in Tehsil Bhamag and District Reasi.
Dangal was organized by Ser Sundwan Dangal Committee in collaboration with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association under the overall supervision of President Ser Sundwan Dangal Committee Nasib Singh, Chief Organizer Master Dhani Ram and Vachiter Singh.
Former Minister, Jugal Kishore Sharma was the chief guest on the occasion who distributed cash prizes of Rs 1, 60,000 among the Wrestlers.
Sharma appealed to the youth to adopt sports as a part of life to stay healthy. He said Sports play vital role to keep mind and physique fit and also builds self confidence and develops personality.
Treasurer Indian Style Wrestling Association of India Shiv Kumar Sharma presided over the function.
Member Shiv Khori Shrine Board and Senior Congress Leader Sardari Lal Dubey and Tehsildar Bhamag Akshay Kumar Rajan were the guests of honour.
Winner of 1st malli bout Muneer Khan was cash awarded with Rs 6,000 along with traditional Gurj (Gadda) and Ser Sundwan Kesari 2018 Patta by Jugal Kishore Sharma, Shiv Kumar Sharma and Sardari Lal Dubey while runners-up Wrestler Ranjeet got Rs 5,000 by Tehsildar Akshay Kumar Rajan, Headmaster Dhani Ram and Nasib Singh (President).
66 bouts were played in day-long dangal. 2nd main bout was won by Vijay of Bai Bajaltha who defeated Ali of Kathua, 3rd bout was won by Murad Ali of Nagrotra who defeated Balwan Singh of J&K Police.
