Mussa’s fifty fails to stop Challenger from sailing into semis

JAMMU, Oct 8: Despite a magnificent half-century by Rahul Mussa, who scored fabulous unbeaten 56 runs, RCC Srinagar fell shot of 6 runs from the target to help star-studded Challenger Cricket Club script a narrow win and enter the semifinals of the ongoing Jammu Tawi Premier T20 Cricket Tournament at MA Stadium, here today.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, Challenger Club scored a modest total of 131 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 7 wickets in the process. In form Pranav Gupta was top scorer with 36 runs, while T20 specialist Sahil Bhalwal, wicket-keeper batsman Sandeep Singh and middle-order batsman Rohit Bhat contributed 30, 29 and 19 runs to the total respectively. For RCC, Kulvinder Singh bagged 2 wickets, while skipper Kuldeep and Satish claimed one wicket each.
RCC, Srinagar, in reply, sailed on brilliant innings of unbeaten 56 runs by all-rounder Rahul Mussa scored 125 runs in the allotted overs, thus lost the match by a narrow margin of 6 runs. Mukul also played a valuable innings of 25 runs, while Satish Kumar chipped in with 13 runs. Rahil Singh was pick of the bowlers for Challenger Club, who produced a fiery spell to scalp 3 important wickets, while skipper Sumit Singh and Sahil Bhalwal claimed one wicket each. Rahil Singh was adjudged man of the match for his superb bowling show.
The match was officiated by Rajinder Singh and Sandeep Manchanda as umpires, while Rakul Mattoo was the scorer.
