Munazah Gazi bags silver medal in 10th Jr Asian Wushu C’ship

JAMMU, Aug 26: Munazah Gazi of Jammu and Kashmir bagged silver medal in 60 kg category of the 10th Junior Asian Wushu Championship at Brunei from August 17 to 24, 2019.
Prior to this Championship, Wushu Association of India organised 60 days National Coaching Camp at Chandigarh University and 15 days National Coaching Camp at Patiala. Indian Wushu team bagged 10 medals, with 3 silver and 7 bronze in the Championship.
The Union Minister for Sports congratulated Indian team for brilliant performance in the Championship.
President, Wushu Association of India Bhupender Singh Bajwa and General Secretary, Suhel Ahmed appreciated the team members for the fabulous performance in the Championship, specially Munazah Gazi for making the Country and the State proud in the prevailing situation.
Munazah Gazi, who hails from Srinagar and is studying at Presentation Convent School, Srinagar, was selected for the National Camp at SAI Bhopal and the final selection trial was conducted at NS NIS Patiala.
Kuldeep Handoo, Chief Wushu Coach of India congratulated team India and Munazah Gazi for outstanding performance in the Championship.
The office bearers of Wushu Association of J&K headed by Vijay Saraf (President), Ranjeet Kalra (Sr Vice President), Deepak Handa (Vice President), Sunil Sharma and Sohit Sharma lauded the efforts of Munazah for making the Country and State proud.
