SRINAGAR, Oct 22: Outplaying their rivals convincingly in their respective summit clashes, cueists Mudasir Ashiq and Amir Hussain lifted senior and junior titles respectively as 25th District Srinagar Snooker Championship concluded, here today.
In Senior Snooker event, Mudasir defeated Miya Bashir 4-2 by (54-16, 40-54, 73-13, 21-60, 57-23, 70-37). Mudasir won the first, 3rd, 5th and 6th frames while Bashir claimed 2nd and 4th frame.
In 25th Junior Snooker Championship, Amir got the better of Adnan 3-1 by (69-58, 21-70, 56-34, 61-44).
Meanwhile, the remaining final of the last year’s 24th District Senior Snooker Championship was also played today, wherein Umer Himanyun emerged champion, defeating Imran Wani convincingly by (55-09, 78-65, 19-61, 69-52, 58-38).
The Championship was organized by District Srinagar Billiards and Snooker Association, under the aegis of Jammu and Kashmir Billiards and Snooker Association, under the supervision of its vice president Umer Himanyun.
Secretary Jammu and Kashmir State Sports Council, Waheed-ur-Rehman Parra was the chief guest on the concluding ceremony, while Director Industries and Commerce, Bilal Ahmad Bhat was the guest of honour.
The chief guest while lauding the efforts of the organizers for holding this mega event, assured them full support and cooperation in promoting the game in nooks and corners of the State.
