MSCC defeats SCC by 7 runs, enters into quarterfinal

JAMMU, Sept 5: Martand Sunrisers Cricket Club (MSCC) defeated Surinder Cricket Club (SCC) by just 7 runs and entered into the quarterfinal of the ongoing Veteran Cup, being played at KC Sports Club ground here.
Batting first, Martand Sunrisers led by skipper Rajesh Khatri scored 136 runs for the loss of 5 wickets. Rajesh Dutta, Rajesh Khatri and Rakesh Bhat made 31, 25 and 23 runs respectively whereas Rinku Pandita scored 19 runs.
From SCC, Rohit Ambardar took 2 wickets whereas Vikas scalped one wicket.
In the second inning, Surinder CC made 129 runs by losing all the wickets thus lost the match by just 7 runs. Provin made 34 runs whereas Vikas scored 26 runs, Dushyant 21 runs and Ajay Khatri made 18 runs.
From Martand Sunrisers, Rakesh Bhat scalped three wickets whereas Arvind Bakshi and Rohit took 2 wickets each.
Rakesh Bhat of Martand Sunrisers Cricket Club was declared as Man of the Match.
