SRINAGAR, Nov 25: Valley Motorsport Club, in association with Northstar Motorsport and Kashmir Road Safety Foundation kicked off a two-day motorsport event, “Valley Autocross,” with a huge participation.
The closed-circuit autocross event took place at Lasjan Bypass, with over a dozen participants, including three female drivers, thrilling spectators with adrenaline-pumping action on the first day.
Skilled drivers navigated a challenging course with precision and speed, showcasing their mastery of the autocross art. The event was overseen by officials from the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI).
Founder member of Valley Motorsports Club, Amrit Pal Singh Bali, mentioned that the event proceeded smoothly with all safety measures and precautions in place, including the provision of an ambulance and a medical team.
One of the female drivers, Marina Farooq, expressed, “I am very happy to participate in this event. Such motorsports events should be organized in the future to boost the motorsports potential of drivers in the Valley.”
Before the event, all drivers undertook a track walk for familiarization, and a briefing was provided where their queries were addressed by Samrat Yadav – the Gypsy King of India – who was the special guest on the occasion. The organizers stated that the event is open to all, and an increased number of participants are expected on the second day, Sunday. “J&K has great potential for motorsport, and the event also promotes the message of road safety to save lives.”
