Model Academy organizes Bocce Match

JAMMU, Mar 4: In order to hone the gross motor and sports skills among the differently-abled students, Model Academy, the prestigious school of MIER organised Bocce Match for inclusive school, here.
Rupa Gupta, Joint Director MIER was the chief guest on the occasion.
Other dignitaries present were Dr Rohnika Sharma HoD B.Ed, PK Srivastava, Principal Model Academy, faculty members and interns of B.Ed Special Education.
Bocce as a Special Olympic Sport provides people with special needs the opportunity to have social contact, develop physically and gain self-confidence.
Speaking on the occasion, Rupa Gupta appreciated the efforts of the teachers in training the differently abled students and said that Special Olympics ensures good competition and inculcates sportsman spirit.
Students were divided into three teams and three students from each team were declared winners.
Shashank, Amrita and Shivani won gold medals whereas Jai, Aastha and Anandita bagged silver medals.
Earlier Dr Rohnika Sharma welcomed the guests on the occasion and Shikha Dubey, Special Educator presented the vote of thanks.
