Model Academy organises Sahodhya Inter School English Declamation Competition

JAMMU, Dec 17: In order to hone the communicative skills of the students, Model Academy, the prestigious school of MIER today organised an Inter School English Declamation competition for Senior Secondary Wing under the aegis of Jammu Sahodhya School Complex.
A total of 14 CBSE schools participated in the event which was on the theme ‘My Vision of India’ inspired by Dr APJ Abdul Kalam. The aim of the competition was to inculcate the spirit of Competitiveness, Confidence and Leadership among the youth.
Pradeep Dutta, Senior Editor Times Now was the chief guest on the occasion and Dr Adit Gupta, Director MIER was the guest of honour.
The panel of judges comprised of Dr Geetanjali, A. Rana Dean Faculty of Arts, Cluster University of Jammu and Payal Jain Author and Wellness Coach. Other dignitaries present were Rupa Gupta, Joint Director MIER, Pramod Srivastava, Principal, JK Dhiman, Vice-Principal, Manju Vali, Convener Co-Curricular activities and HOD’s of various departments.
Speaking on the occasion, Pradeep Dutta said that the students are the bricks of this nation and motivated them to break their shackles and fly high.
He further encouraged them to break the barriers of religion, caste, creed and build a united India based on peace and prosperity.
The first position was bagged by Meghna Jain from KC Public School, second place was bagged by Syeda Hafsa Bukhari from Presentation Convent School and third place was shared by Aditi Mahajan from APS Nagrota and Mahrosh Malik of Model Academy. The Consolation prize went to Aasim-ul-Haq Khwaja from Heritage School.
Earlier, Marushika Suri presented a formal welcome address, whereas the programme was compeered by Akshita Sharma, Head Girl of the school.
The programme was co-ordinated by Manju Vali, Simmi Gupta and Kanika Mahajan.
