JAMMU, May 14: Model Academy Jammu celebrated National Technology Day at its campus, here today.
As part of the celebration, an Inter-School Painting Competition was organized in which students of different schools of Jammu city participated.
The topics for the competition were ‘Nurture Nature for our Future’ and ‘Technologies that will change the future’. The purpose of the event was to provide opportunity to the students to share their innovative, exciting insights and creative ideas through colours.
Anil Saraf, former Professor and HoD, Applied Arts, Department of Music and Fine Arts, University of Jammu was the judge on the occasion, while Dr Renu Gupta Director MIER, Dr Adit Gupta Joint Director MIER, Ruchika Gupta Project Director Humming Buds were also present.
Earlier, Rupa Gupta, Principal Model Academy declared the competition open and gave her best wishes to the students.
In the junior category, Mrinal Raina of Heritage school, Bhumika Sharma from Presentation Convent and Nitik Mahajan of Model Academy won the first, second and third prize respectively, while consolation prizes were given to Rupa Manhas and Ritik Manhas of Tiny Tots school.
In the senior category, Sunil Angral of JK Public School, Himanshu Dogra of Shiksha Niketan and Rhythm Babbar of Heritage School bagged first three positions respectively while consolation prizes were awarded to Astha Kumar of Heritage School and Elfee of Presentation Convent School.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Adit Gupta, Joint Director MIER hoped that ideas projected by students in their paintings, will leave impact on minds of everyone.
