JAMMU, Apr 10: Outplaying Jammu Zone convincingly by three goals to nil (3-0) Under-12 boys summit clash, Miran Sahib zone lifted the title trophy of the ongoing Football Tournament-‘Let’s Play’ under Khelo India Scheme, being organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, under the patronage of Director General, Sheikh Fayaz Ahmed at Government Model School, Satwari, here.
Jatinpal Singh, Gurveen Singh and Kartik scored one goal each for Miran Sahib.
Earlier, in the semifinals, Miran Sahib Zone defeated Jammu Zone by three goals to nil (3-0), while Gandhi Nagar Zone beat Akhnoor Zone by two goals to one (2-1).
Jammu beat Akhnoor by 2-1 to claim 3rd place.
In Under-16 boys, Gandhi Nagar Zone beat Khour Zone by four goals to nil (4-0) to seal berth in semifinal, while Bhalwal Zone drubbed Akhnoor Zone by (4-0) to enter the last four stages.
At BSF Paloura, in Under-16 boys, Jammu Zone registered a solitary goal win over Bishnah Zone to enter semifinals, while Miran Sahib trounced Dansal by (2-0) in another quarterfinal match.
In Under-19 boys at BSF Paloura, Miran Sahib defeated Jammu by (1-0) and Akhnoor crushed Gandhi Nagar Zone by (5-0) to seal berth in the finals.
The matches were officiated by Bharat Bhushan, Ajay Sharma, Amit Sharma, Gurbachan Singh, Taranpreet Singh, Ranjeet Singh, Subash Chander, Harvinder Singh, Satinder Singh and Ravinder Singh.
The Tournament is being held under the overall supervision of Madan Lal, Joint Director Youth Services and Sports Jammu, while Chanchal Kour, District Youth Services and Sports Officer Jammu is the Organising Secretary.
