JAMMU, July 27: Media XI Cricket Club clinched a thrilling four-wicket win over Combine Cricket Club (CCC) in a nail-biting T20 encounter at Forest Ground, Sidhra, here today. Chasing a competitive target of 163, Media XI reached the target in 18.2 overs, with skipper Yash Khajuria finishing unbeaten on a blistering 29 off 14 balls, hitting three boundaries and two sixes.
Batting first, CCC posted 162 for 9 in their allotted 20 overs. Abhinav Sharma scored 55 off 37 balls. Abdul Gafoor’s late cameo of 15 off 5 balls helped CCC set a challenging total.
Media XI’s bowlers kept things tight. Pardeep S Bali was the pick of bowlers with 3 for 17, while Yash Khajuria bagged 3 for 18. Ved Prakash chipped in with 2 wickets for 31 runs.
In reply, Media XI lost early wickets, but a 42-run knock by Raghav Ratra and a quickfire 33 from Pardeep S Bali steadied the chase. Rahul Khatri added 22 before Yash sealed the win.
Despite Akash’s 3-wicket haul for CCC, 32 extras proved costly. Media XI’s win highlighted team effort and composure under pressure. The club continues to promote its social campaign, ‘Say No to Drugs, Yes to Life’.
