JAMMU, Oct 19: MC Khalsa College of Education organized Valedictory Function on the concluding of the workshop being for teacher educators on “Setting, modelling and integrating the components of various skills of Micro Teaching” as prescribed by the University of Jammu.
The workshop was inaugurated on the other day by S Harbans Singh, former Minister and Chairman Managing Committee.
During the inauguration of the workshop, Dr Madhu Singh, Principal, MC Khalsa College of Education highlighted the important issues generated for conducting the workshop and its impact on teacher educators, teacher trainees and school teachers.
All the participants were acquainted about full programme of the workshop during different sessions on different days.
During all these days, the various skills of micro teaching were taken, including Skill of Reinforcement, Skill of Stimulus Variation, Skill of Illustrating with Examples, Skill of Questioning and Skill of Explaining and simultaneously other important skills like Skill of using Black Board, Skill of encouraging pupil Participation, Skill of writing instructional objectives, Skill of using Audio-visual aids and Skill of introducing and closing the lesson.
In the morning session the demonstrations were given by the teacher educators and discussions were held thereafter to improve the methodology after the feedback, while in the evening session, the threadbare discussions were held in various groups constituted for improving and integrating the components. Very fruitful deliberations were made in the panel discussions.
Prof Lokesh Verma, Ex Dean HoD of Education Department, Jammu University was the chief guest, while Principal, Dr Madhu Singh gave a quick review of the various activities that took place on each day of the workshop.
Dr Lokesh Verma made valuable remarks and encouraged the Principal and the teacher educators who participated in the workshop for their outstanding performance.
