JAMMU, Dec 7: Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation, Chander Mohan Gupta inaugurated the 46th J&K State Badminton Championship-2019 in an impressive, well attended and colourful function at MA Stadium, here today.
The Championship in which around 350 badminton players are taking part, is being organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Badminton Association with a twin purpose of promoting sports in the Union Territory and keeping youth away from the drugs and other allied evils.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were OD Sharma, Vice president Badminton Association of India and Chairman J&K Badminton Association; Subhash Sharma, Treasurer JKBA; Col DV Sharma, Vice President JKBA; Balbir Singh Jamwal, General Secretary JKBA and Som Raj Gupta and Rahul Sharma, Chief Referees of the Championship.
Anil Gaind, Treasurer, JCDBA, Satish Gupta, Manager Indoor Sports Complex, Jagdev Singh, Sukhdev Singh and Advocate Vikas Sharma were present on the occasion, while SAI Badminton coaches Satpal Sharma and Vikram Saini were the technical advisers.
The winners of the matches played today in different categories included Danish, Dhairya Arora, Shourya Pratham, Yashasvi, Sarthak Jain, Sant Singh, Ibrahim, Ojas Suri, Ayush Thakur, Vansh Mahajan, Sanyam Ragi, Aman Mir, Shourya Jasrotia, Harshit Sharma, Vidhan Gour, Aesh Goswami, Astik Dutta, Dheeraj Sharma, Vidhan Gour, Akshay, Umair, Sehdev Singh, Puranjay Sharma and Mareedul.
