RAMBAN, Feb 25: Ramban Police, under the guidance of SSP Ramban Kulbir Singh, organized the Martyrs Memorial Cricket Tournament as part of the Civic Action Programme at the District Police Line Ramban. The event, presided over by Gourav Mahajan, Additional SP Ramban, aimed to promote sports and provide youth with a platform to excel, steering them away from drug addiction.
A total of 16 teams from various parts of District Ramban participated in the tournament. The final match saw Mountain Valley Patnitop face off against Victoria Cricket Club Banihal. Mountain Valley Patnitop won the match by 7 runs. The team won the toss, elected to bat, and scored 116 runs in 18 overs. Victoria Cricket Club Banihal, chasing the target, could only manage 109 runs, losing 8 wickets in 18 overs.
The winning team received a cash prize of Rs 25,000, while the runner-up received Rs 15,000. Individual awards went to Rafaqat Bhat, the Man of the Match and Ujwal Manhas, the Man of the Tournament.
