MA Sports Club wins Kabaddi Gold Cup opener

JAMMU, Mar 16: MA Sports Club won the opening match of the Kabaddi Gold Cup under-23 boys tournament, organized by the Arun Sharma Sports and Social Welfare Trust in collaboration with the J&K Amateur Kabaddi Association, Kreeda Bharati J&K and the J&K Sports Council, at the Kabaddi Arena, MA Stadium, here today.
In the inaugural match, MA Sports Club defeated Shield Sports Club by 47-38, securing a nine-point victory in an exciting contest witnessed by distinguished guests. The event was declared open by Secretary of J&K Sports Council (JKSC), Nuzhat Gul, who interacted with participating teams, members of the organizing committee, and visiting guests.
Organized in connection with the birth anniversary of Arun Sharma, former Sports Officer and celebrity Handball coach of J&K, the tournament will conclude tomorrow with the final and valedictory function.
Among the distinguished guests present were Kreeda Bharati J&K president Shiv Kumar Sharma; Incharge SAI STC Jammu Aman Sharma; JK Amateur Kabaddi Association (JKAKA) general secretary Dr. Kuldeep Gupta; Director Sports Cluster, University of Jammu Dr Vinod Bakshi; member trustee of Arun Sharma Sports and Social Welfare Trust Ashutosh Sharma; DySP J&K Police and international handball player Akshay Khajuria; Principal SRML Higher Secondary School Dr. Kishore Sharma; former JKAKA secretary Surinder Mohan; Jammu district secretary Sanjit Kumar; along with several serving and retired officers of the J&K Sports Council and members of various sports associations.
