Live audition for ‘Voice of India’ held

JAMMU, Nov 26: North Zone Cultural Centre Patiala in collaboration with Sangeet Milon Lucknow and Arohi Sangeet Vidyalaya, J&K conducted live audition of state level for classical voice of India-2018 here.
Over 35 contestants participated in classical music under different categories in vocal, Tabla, Santoor and Violin. The participants were from Jammu, Udhampur, Kathua and Kashmir apart from fiver visually impaired candidates.
Winners declared under different categories in Tabla were Ridma Bajpai, 1st prize; Sarvaan Gupta, 2nd prize and Pragati Sharma, 3rd prize while in Vocal Ridma Bajpai stood 1st, Suhani Abrol 2nd and Sarvaan Gupta 3rd and in Middle Group Aablas Sharma was 1st, Ramjhim Gupta 2nd and Anmol Kumar 3rd.
The above toppers were given Gold, Silver and Bronze medals respectively along with certificates.
Consolation medals in different categories in Vocal were given to Damini Bandral, Chandrika Jyoti, Surestra (all blind girls) and Arredhya Sharma, Suraj Dogra, Akshay Kumar and Vipas Vaid.
In Tabla, Pragati Sharma, Gurjot Singh and Varinder Kumar were awarded and in instrumental music Sidharth Bogal, Aryansh Khajuria, Nasser Ahmad Mir, Shamasdin Tragwal, Khush Paul, Akshay Samnotra and Chanderdhari Kesar were declared for consolation medals. All other participants were given participatory certificates. The grand finale will be held at Lucknow in the middle of December and the Chief Minister of Utter Pradesh has consented to present prizes to winners. From Jammu Ridima Bajpai and Suraj Dogra are declared for grand finale.
