REASI Mar 28: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Reasi Babila Rakwal along with SSP Reasi Amit Gupta inaugurated the Lithiumn Premier league Cricket tournament at Sports Stadium, here today.
The tournament was organised by Reasi Journalists in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council under ‘My Youth My Pride, to promote sports-related spirit in the district and give young and promising talents an opportunity to come together for the cause of sports.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC exhorted the youth to take part in sports to beat stress and enhance physical and mental fitness.
The DC said that the sport has a positive and constructive role in our social and psychological development besides such events enable youth to engage in positive pursuits. Where as SSP Reasi said that such tournaments connects the youths and spread awareness against substance abuse.
A total of 32 teams are scheduled to participate in this T-20 tournament.
The inaugural match of the tournament was played between Sri Ram Cricket Club and Panthal Cricket Club which was won by the team of SRCC.SRCC won the toss , elected to bat first and scored total of 165 runs for the loss of 7 wicket. For SRCC Deepak scored 30 runs and Pankaj 29 runs.Ajeet Singh from PCC took 3 wickets. While chasing Panthal CC scored only 110 runs for the loss of 9 wickest. From PCC, Shubham -47(42) Anup contributed 29 runs. For SRCC Deepak took -4/13 and Ravi -3/20. SRCC won the match by 54 runs and Deepak Singh was adjusted as man of the match.
