Lifebuoy Cup-22: Indian Divyang beats Nepal in opening match

JAMMU, June 12: The Indian Divyang Cricket team defeated Nepal team by 12 runs in the opening match of the ongoing Lifebuoy Cup-2022- a three match cricket series at Mulpani International Cricket Ground, Kathmandu in Nepal, today.
The Indian Divyang team’s captain, Yahya Patel won the toss and decided to bat first.
Batting first, three players of Indian team suffered early blow as openers batsmen Shahul Hameed and Vinay Yadav as well as captain Yahya Patel got out at 1, 2 and 7 runs respectively, followed by Sayed Shah Aziz (32) and Santosh Sandy’s unbeaten 47 runs helped to consolidate the Indian innings and placed 117 runs on scoreboard for the loss of 5 wickets in stipulated 20 overs. From the bowling side, Vivek Sharma and Ramprakash Kharel took two wickets each, while Tabrez Alam took one wicket.
In reply, Nepal Divyang team could not chase the set target and succeeded to make 105 runs by losing 8 wickets in 20 overs wherein Manoj scored highest 22 runs, while captain Ramprakash made 16 and wicket-keeper batsman Dumbar contributed 14 runs. For the Indian team, Sayed Shah Aziz took 2 wickets by giving 10 runs in 3 overs spell, while Makhan Singh Rajput took two wickets in 4 overs and Santosh Sandy and Diwakar Tiwari got 1 wicket each.
The game changer award was given to Santosh Sandy, while Man of the Match award went to Sayed Shah Aziz presented by Haroon Rasheed, general secretary of Divyang Cricket Control Board of India.
The umpires of the match were Ravindra Gupta from Nepal and Yogesh Shinde from India, while Sambeer Chauhan was match referee and Rohit was scorer and Mahendra Singh and Sanjeev were commentators.
The second match of the series will be played tomorrow at the same venue.
