Laxmi Cricket Club drubs Bhatia CC to enter semis

JAMMU, June 12: Getting the better of Bhatia Cricket Club by a narrow margin of 12 runs in the quarterfinals, Laxmi Cricket Club sealed berth in the semifinals of the ongoing JKCA Premier Cricket Championship, being organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, Laxmi Cricket Club scored 206 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 30 overs. Nipun Verma top scored with 68 runs, while Vikram Dogra and Bobby contributed 43 and 39 runs to the total respectively. Nipun hit 6 fours and one six in his knock. For Bhatia Cricket Club, Shivam took 3 wickets, while Jaipal and Ashwani claimed 2 wickets each.
In reply, Bhatia Cricket Club managed to score 194 runs, thus fell short of 12 runs and lost the match by the same margin. Abhishek played a brilliant innings of unbeaten 87 runs, studded with 8 boundaries and 3 sixes, while Shivam contributed valuable 24 runs to the total. For Laxmi Club, Kulvinder took 2 wickets, while Aman, Rahul, Govind and Sameer claimed 1 wicket each. Abhishek of Bhatia Cricket Club was adjudged as the man of the match for his brilliant batting display.
The match was officiated by Ashok Singh, Rahul and Saleem-ur-Rehman.
At Sports Stadium Kathua, Kundal XI scripted a narrow win by 7 runs over Vicky XI in the JKCA Under-25 Premier Cricket Championship.
Batting first, Kundal XI scored 192 runs in 30 overs, losing 8 wickets in the process. Gulshan top scored with 66 runs, while Sunil, Sunny and Raj Kumar 30, 24 and 23 runs respectively. Vicky and Shekar took 2 wickets each from Vicky XI Kathua.
In reply, Vicky XI managed to score 185 runs, thus lost the match by a narrow margin of 7 runs. Vicky top scored with 58 runs, while Aashu and Tarun contributed 28 runs each. Sunil and Gulshan took 3 wickets each, while Sohan Lal claimed 2 wickets. Gulshan of Kundal XI Kathua was declared as the man of the match.
The match was officiated by Sanjeev Singh, Rajesh Gupta and Kulbhushan Singh.
The Tournament is being held under the patronage of JKCA Administrators namely Justice CK Prasad and Justice Riffat Alam, while CEO JKCA, AH Bukhari is the Chairman of the Tournament and the matches are held under the overall supervision of retired Judge, Jang Bahadur Singh Jamwal, Member, Committee of Members JKCA.
