LAHDC accords rousing reception to marathon runner Jigmet Dolma

Leh, Jan 13: The marathon runner Jigmet Dolma from Igoo village who made the UT Ladakh proud by securing 4th position in the recently concluded Dhaka Marathon. She was given a rousing reception by the council members at Council Secretariat, here.
The Chairman/Chief Execu-tive Councillor LAHDC, Leh Advocate Tashi Gyalson, EC Rural Dev. Deptt Tashi Yakzee and Counicllors welcomed athlete Jigmet, her parents, coach, relatives and village representatives at the Council Secretariat Leh. He honored them with traditional Khataks. CEC Gyalson handed over a cheque of rupees 21,000 to athlete Jigmet as a token of love.
CEC Gyalson on behalf of Ladakhi people congratulated athlete Jigmet Dolma, her parents and coach for making our country and UT Ladakh proud at an international platform. Appreciating the hard work, dedication, and achievements of athlete Jigmet Dolma, CEC said that despite getting a minimal time for practice in such a different atmosphere and conditions, she still managed to secure 4th position and he hoped that she will touch new heights in her career in the near future.
