JAMMU, May 21: Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), Jammu Region, Jammu conducted four Basic Training Courses for Scout Masters, Guide Captains, Cub Masters and Flock Leaders at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Dalhousie at Banikhet in Himachal Pradesh, today.
85 teachers of Kendriya Vidyalayas of KVS (Jammu Region) situated in parts of Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and entire J&K State took part in the Courses.
A Grand Camp Fire was organized on this occasion where A S Gill, Deputy Divisional Commissioner, B S & G and Assistant Commissioner KVS Jammu Region and Anup Kapur, Chairman, Vidyalaya Management Committee (VMC) were the special guests on the occasion.
The Basic Courses were inaugurated by AVLJ Rao, Divisional Commissioner B S & G and Deputy Commissioner, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Jammu Region.
The guests were received by P L Dhiman, Principal of the Vidyalaya and were honoured by scarf wearing.
The report on the activities undertaken during the courses was highlighted by Sandhya R Singh from KVS Mumbai Region, ALT (Guide) and Leader of the Course for Basic Course for Guides.
A colourful cultural programme full of value based items and patriotism was presented by the participants of the courses.
A S Gill inspected the display of camp craft exhibition prepared by the participants on various themes related to scouting and guiding activities and skills.
While speaking on the occasion, Mr Gill appreciated the contribution of the participating teachers who are taking keen interest to adopt the scouting and guiding programme dedicated to the cause of humanity related issues and the development of the personality of the children. Anuj Kapur, Chairman, VMC, also spoke on the occasion.
Anju Jamwal, State Organizing Commissioner (Guide), Jang S Verman, Assistant State Organizing Commissioner (Scout) and Sanjeev Trivedi, State Training Commissioner (Scout), KVS State of BS&G were present on the occasion.
Other Leader of Courses included Sandhya R Singh KVS (Mumbai Regiom), Ram Avtar and Urmila Mehta (both from Rajasthan State of BS&G).
