SAMBA, July 19: Khalsa XI defeated Samba XI in the final clash today and lifted the title trophy of the Tirth Singh Memorial Cricket Tournament, organised by Tirth Singh Memorial Sports Committee, Rahya.
The final match was played at the ground of Government RSM Higher Secondary School, Rahya amidst cheering crowd, wherein Khalsa XI trounced Samba XI by 9 wickets by comfortably chasing the target of 67 runs set by Samba XI.
A total of 32 teams drawn from all parts of Jammu participated in the tournament and ultimately Samba XI and Khalsa XI managed their entries in the finals after defeating their respecting opponents.
On the valedictory function, Rajinder Jamwal, a prominent leader of Jammu, was the chief guest, who presented prizes and trophy to the winning team. Winning team was awarded Rs 11000 whereas Runners up team was awarded Rs 5000. Man of the match and man of the series trophies were awarded to Aman and Puneet, respectively of Khalsa XI. They were also given cash prizes.
