Khalsa Warriors become Champions

JAMMU, May 6: Khalsa Warriors became Champions of Senior Hockey tournament by defeating Hiranagar Hockey Club via shootouts in the finals today organized by Hockey J&K.
The championship was sponsored by J&K Sports Council. Before shootouts, both the teams had scored 2-2 goals.
Rajinder Singh, former president of Hockey India was the chief guest of the final match, while Daljit Singh (Member Hockey J&K) and Dr Anitipal Singh (Orthopedician) were the guests of honour.
Other prominent persons including GS Bakshi (Former Observer Hockey India Commonwealth Games Glasgow Scotland), Ishan Sharma (Treasure Hockey J&K), Gurpreet Singh (Vice President), Tajinder Singh (Resident Secy.), Supinder Deep Singh Bakshi (General Secretary Hockey J&K) and others were present during the closing ceremony.
The final match was officiated by a technical panel of Gurjeet Singh (Former International Hockey player), Iqbal Singh (NIS Hockey Coach J&K Police) D. Singh (NIS Hockey Coach), Jagjit Singh (NIS Hockey Coach), Jasprit Singh and Balmeet Singh.
Hockey J&K is playing an important role in keeping youth engaged by organizing a number of Hockey tournaments one after another, said an office bearer of the Association.
