Khalsa to lock horns with Singh Club in finals today

JAMMU, Mar 13: Khalsa Club will lock horns with Singh Club Bandhurakh in the summit clash of the 10th Shaheed Bhagat Singh Sub Junior Men Hockey Championship, organized by-Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh Foundation under the aegis of Hockey J&K, here at KK Hakku Stadium, tomorrow.
Two semi-final matches were played, wherein Khalsa Club defeated Bishnah Hockey Club by 10 goals to nil. Four goals were scored by Rajveer Singh, while Tejveer Singh netted 2 goals and Tejpal, Harpreet, Kawalpreet and Ashmeet Singh scored 1 goal each in the first semi-final match.
In the 2nd match, Singh Club Bandhurakh trounced Seetu Hockey Club by 6 goals to 1. Jasjeet Singh scored 2 goals, while Dalip Anurag netted 3 goals and AbhIshek scored one goal in favour of Bandhurakh, besides Pawanjot Singh scored a lone goal for Seetu Club.
Tejinder Singh, resident secretary of Hockey J&K was the chief guest and said that the youth is the backbone of a nation and appealed to the youth to come forward and build the nation, dreamed by Shaheed Bhagat Singh.
The matches were officiated by Angat Singh, Dalvinder Singh, Anjali, Meenakshi and Tejinder Singh.
