Khalsa Club registers win over Sunderbani; gets berth in next round

KATHUA, Apr 10: Khalsa Cricket Club registered 14 runs victory over Sunderbani Cricket Club in a nail biting match and registered berth in the next round of the ongoing Tawi Premier League T-20 Cricket Tournament, being organised by Tawi Organizing Committee in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) at Sports Stadium, here today.
Electing to bat first, after winning the toss, Khalsa Cricket Club scored 128 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in allotted 20 overs. Pritpal played well, chipped in some crispy shots and scored 46 runs including four balls towards the fence, while Harinder also contributed 32 runs including three boundaries and one lofty six. Satwant also made 22 runs including one ball over the fence.
For Sunderbani Cricket Club, Shanker and Sudershan proved their worth and scalped 2 wickets each.
In the second inning, Sunderbani Cricket Club tried its level best to win the match, but failed and bundled out at 114 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in stipulated 20 overs. Jasvir was the top scorer with 57 runs including six balls towards the fence, while Asif and Rohit also contributed 12 runs each.
For Khalsa Cricket Club, Harinder was the pick of the bowler with 3 wickets by conceding just 15 runs in his 3 overs spell, whereas, Amrit Pal with his good line and length scalped 2 wickets.
Harinder of Khalsa Cricket Club was declared as man of the match for his all round performance and was awarded with Rs 500 cash and a trophy.
The matches were officiated by Mohan Lal and Anoop Sharma as umpires, while Kulbhushan Singh maintained the scorecard.
In tomorrow’s fixture, PTS Kathua will clash with Kathua Juniors in the first match, while KCC Jammu will take on RCC Udhampur in the second match.
