KCPS students leave for Canada to attend Round Sq Intl Conference

JAMMU, Sept 26: Five students of Class 12th from KC Public School (KCPS) left for Canada today as members of a delegation to attend the annual Round Square International Conference 2018 hosted by Ashbury College, Ottawa, from September 27 to October 3.
They are accompanied by Arti Chowdhary, Managing Director of the School and Sonia Thakur, school representative of Round Square. KCPS is the only school in J&K as global member school of the Round Square. There are about 190 reputed schools from all over the world as members of this international association that promotes education as a character-building process based on the educational philosophy of Kurt Hahn and 12 tenets of Round Square Discovery Framework (RSDF).
The students who are going to represent KCPS at the Conference are Sahar Rohmetra, Ribhav Mittal, Amogh Bansal, Rachit Dogra and Parth Gupta. In the week-long Conference, they will take part in various activities such as opening and closing ceremonies, community service, adventure, baraza group discussions with fellow students from different parts of the world and a joint cultural programme by students of South Asia and Gulf region.
They will also be addressed by eminent personalities of the world on issues and themes revolving around the six ideals of Round Square, namely internationalism, environmentalism, democracy, leadership, adventure and service.
Managing Director Arti Chowdhary has been specially invited by the organizers to present a power-point report at the Conference on effective and path-breaking implementation of Round Square Discovery Framework at KC Public School in the past 2 years of its membership as a Round Square school.
The members of KCPS delegation were given a warm send-off at Jammu airport this afternoon. They would return to Jammu on Oct 5, bringing back enriching experiences from an international conference.
