JAMMU, Dec 6: Six students of KC Public School escorted by senior teacher Kamaljeet Kaur are attending a Round Square induced Service Camp organized by Mayo Girls’ College, Ajmer, Rajasthan from December 4 to 6, 2019.
The students attending the Camp are Ojas Kapoor, Saumya Kapoor, Archita Gupta, Samagya Chopra, Aadeesh Nargotra and Riddhima Dogra.
The students from eight Round Square schools from South Asia and Gulf region, namely, KCPS Jammu, Daly College Indore, Vidya Devi Jindal Hissar, Chanderbala Modi Academy Ankleshwar, Sunbeam School Varanasi, Emerald Heights International School Indore, Mayo Boys’ College Ajmer and Mayo Girls’ College Ajmer are attending the Camp.
Service is one of the most significant Pillars of the Round Square educational ideology constituted of Internationalism, Environmentalism, Democracy, Leadership, Adventure and Service. Service camps for senior students of Round Square schools are organized at regional and international levels every year.
The venue of service at Ajmer is Government Senior Secondary School for blind children in Adarsh Nagar area of the city.
It is a meagrely funded governmental institution needing maintenance and repair of the school building.
The service activity commenced on December 4 with all student delegates and escorting teachers preparing the building for a fresh coat of paint.
They finished applying the primer on the first day and are scheduled to complete painting work by the evening of December 6, 2019.
