JAMMU, Jan 17: Ace Gymnast Bavleen Kour was today honoured by the Management of KC Public School for her remarkable achievements in the 3rd edition of Khelo India Youth Games at Guwahati in Assam.
In a special school assembly held today morning to felicitate her for her great achievements, she received a standing ovation from her school mates for her exceptional performance at Khelo India Youth Games 2020.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal Amarendra Kumar Mishra congratulated the celebrity gymnast of KCPS and wished her greater successes in her performances in the forthcoming national and international competitions.
Bavleen Kour, a Class XII student of KC Public School, is a star gymnast who has made a place for herself in Gymnastics at the national and international levels in recent years. Representing the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir at the 3rd Edition of Khelo India Youth Games 2020 held at Guwahati, Assam and facing stiff competition from States like Maharashtra and Haryana, she once again brought laurels not only for her school but also for J&K by winning 2 Gold and 3 Silver medals at this prestigious national level sporting event. In the National School Games 2019 held at Agra in November, she had made a clean sweep of all the 5 individual Gold Medals and brought glory to the UT of Jammu & Kashmir. In the 2nd edition of the Khelo India Youth Games 2019 held at Pune last year, she had taken gymnastics in J&K to new heights by bagging 3 Gold and 2 Silver medals.
Bavleen who aims at representing India at the Commonwealth Games 2022 is now focused on her academic performance in the Class XII examination scheduled to be conducted by the CBSE in February this year.
