JAMMU, May 29: Star-studded Kishan Chand Cricket Club defeated NYCC by 6 wickets in an easy contest to sail into the next round of the ongoing Salute and Tribute to Players T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by Parade Cricket Association at Parade Ground, here.
Earlier, batting first, NYCC managed to score paltry 96 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Ashok scored 35 runs off 35 balls with 2 boundaries, while Nitin contributed 30 off 20 balls, which included 5 boundaries. For KCCC, wrist spinner Manik Gupta, left-arm spinner Raman Thaploo and slow offie Bandeep Singh claimed one wicket each.
In reply, KCCC rode on a brilliant batting display by Pardeep Bali and reached the target in 13.1 overs by losing 4 wickets, thus won the match by 6 wickets. Bali was top scorer with quick-fire 36 runs, which he scored in 26 balls with the help of 6 boundaries, while Vimarsh Kaw contributed 18 off 16 balls with one towering six. Bandeep Singh also chipped in with 14-ball 15 runs, studded with 2 boundaries. Nitin took 2 wickets for NYCC, while Bharat and Sahil shared one wicket each. Pardeep Bali was adjudged man of the match. The match was officiated by JD Singh and Harsh as umpires, while Ajay Sharma was the scorer.
