KCCC crushes Friends Club; Rising Star mauls Billowria XI

JKCA’s District Level Cricket Tournament

JAMMU/KATHUA May 11: Star-studded Kishan Chand Cricket Club (KCCC) thrashed Friends Cricket Club (FCC) by 9 wickets, while Rising Star defeated Billowria XI by 7 wickets in the ongoing JKCA’s District Level Cricket Tournament, being played at GGM Science College Hostel ground Jammu and Police Lines ground Kathua.
The tournament is being held under the overall supervision of Jang Bahadur Singh Jamwal, Member Judicial State Human Rights Commission and Member Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA).
At GGM Science College Hostel ground, winning the toss and batting first, FCC scored 144 runs in the stipulated 30 overs, losing 9 wickets in the process. Rakesh Kumar top scored with 25 runs, while Sidharth and Jasveer contributed 15 and 11 runs to the total respectively. From KCCC, Sawan Singh took 3 important wickets, while Bandeep Singh, Ashim Nanda and Manik Gupta shared one wicket each.
In reply, KCCC chased the target easily by losing 1 wicket, thus won the match by 9 wickets. Jatin Wadhawan and Shubham Khajuria scored magnificent half-centuries, making 63 and 62 runs respectively, while Soumay Jain contributed 11 runs to the total. From Friends Cricket Club, Shabir took the lone wicket to fall. Sawan Singh was adjudged as the man of the match for his brilliant bowling display.
At Kathua, batting first, Billowria XI collapsed at a paltry total of 58 runs in 19.3 overs. Ajay was the only batsman to cross the double figure mark, scoring 13 runs. From Rising Star, Dineshwar Singh and Avinash Sharma captured 3 wickets each.
In reply, Rising Star chased the target in 8.3 overs by losing 3 wickets, thus won the match by 7 wickets. Neeraj top scored with 33 runs, while Reetish contributed 12 runs to the total. From Billowria XI, Ajay and Mohit claimed 1 wicket each.
The matches were officiated by Sadiq Hussain Malik, Rahul Kumar, Ashok Singh, Dheeraj Andotra, Jatinder Singh, Kulbhushan and Sourav Sharma.
