JAMMU, Oct 18: KC International School today hosted 9th Sur Sangam- an Inter-School music competition in which number of reputed school of the Jammu like G D Goenka, Model Academy, Banyan International, Army School Ratnuchak and Sunjwa and Stephans International, participated.
The competition was organized in three categories— group song senior, group song junior and solo category.
Kiran Wattal, Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation, was the chief guest of the event while Pradeep Dutta, Chief Bureau, Times Now, was the guest of honour. The event started with the lighting of lamp and followed by Sarasvati Vandana.
Senior vice chairperson, Saroj Mahajan, vice chairman, Chaitanya Chowdhary and principal, Dr Ravi Bhushan, were also present on the occasion.
The event was judged by Dr Renu Sehgal, HoD Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, Anupama Sharma, Music Professor, Parade College, Ravi Sharma, Composer, (Retd) Professor Parade College and Kuldeep Sapru, Composer/Arranger.
In Group Song Junior Category, KC International School bagged 1st position while GD Goenka School remained runners up. Stephen International School got consolation prize.
In Group Song Senior Category, KC International School emerged winner while Model Academy remained Runners up. Army School Ratnuchak got consolation prize.
KC International School also won in Group Song Solo Category whereas Model Academy remained Runners up. The consolation prize went to GD Goenka School.
The event concluded with National Anthem.
