JAMMU, Jan 1: Katra Football Club and Titan Sports Anantnag registered wins over their rivals in the ongoing 11th Christmas Gold Cup Football Tournament, being organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA) at GGM Science College Football ground, here.
In the first match, Katra FC defeated Bayern FC in an exciting contest by five goals to four (5-4) via sudden death.
Earlier, the match ended with both the teams scoring one goal each (1-1) in the stipulated time. Then in the tie-breaker, both the teams managed to shoot 3 kicks each inside the goal posts, thus making it (4-4) tie. The match was decided via sudden death where Katra FC emerged winner by (5-4).
In another match, Titan Sports Ananatnag defeated Sainik Colony FC by two goals to nil (2-0). The first goal was scored by Qasim Khan in 44th minute and the second goal was netted by Bashir Ahmed in 62nd minute.
The matches were officiated by Suresh Gupta, Dheeraj Meenia, Rahul Sharma, Moon Stephen, Ricky Kumar, Vijay Kumar and Sanjay Kumar.
Prominent among those who witnessed the matches were SM Gill, Ex MLC, Zameer Thakur, President JKFA, Sheikh Mehmood, President DFA Jammu, Fayaz Ahmed, Featus Sotra, Yousuf Don, Romesh Chander, Charan Dass, Harbans Lal and Rajesh Kumar.
