KATHUA, Dec 18: The Society for Environment of Landscapes and Forests organized Kathua Marathon with slogan of “Run for Unity and Run for Fitness”, here.
The marathon was flagged-off by Superintendent of Police Kathua, Pawan Parihar. In the marathon, large numbers of youth drawn from various schools and colleges took part. Police personnel also participate in the marathon.
The Marathon started from District Police Lines and after passing through main bazaar road, new bus stand and dream land park road concluded at DPL.
The first three position holders were awarded with cash prizes of Rs 5100, Rs 3100 and Rs 1100 respectively.
While addressing, SP Kathua Pawan Parihar said that it is great initiative taken by the group of NGO members to arrange such event as these kinds of events will encourage the young generation towards sports.
