KARGIL, July 10: Kargil Basket Ball team defeated Shopain Basket Ball team in the inaugural tie of the Under 17 Boys and Girls Inter District Basket Ball Tournament organised by Director Youth Services and Sports at Basket Ball Court of Khree Sultan Choo Stadium Kargil. In the tournament, 10 boys and 5 girls’ team from different district of J&K are participating
The tournament was declared open by SSP Kargil Javed Iqbal Mattoo, who was the chief guest on the occasion in presence of Additional Deputy Commissioner Kargil Kacho Hassan Khan, who the guest of honour.
While speaking, SSP said that these kind of tournaments provide opportunity to students to get awared and educated about the culture and tradition of places, which are unknown to them.
He said that the students from the valley and Jammu should try to look into the topographical difference of Ladakh with rest of J&K and the culture of this region, which is very different from other places of the State.
He also said that the players have to try and excel in every field of life whether it is education, sports and any other field.
Earlier, Youth Service and Sports Officer Kargil Haji Miraza Hussian presented the welcome address.
Among others present were, incharge of the teams, Zonal Physical Education Officer Kargil and Sankoo, organizer of the event, Mohammad Yousuf, Bashir Ahmad Wafa, Hamid, officials of the Sports Department and sports lovers.
