JAMMU, Dec 29: Basketball and Badminton teams for women of University of Jammu (JU) left for participation in North Zone Inter-University Badminton and Basketball tournaments, here today.
Both the North Zone Inter-university tournaments are scheduled to be held at Chitkara University, Rajpura (Punjab) from December 30 to January 3, 2022.
The teams were flagged off by Dr Daud Iqbal Baba, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education at JU’s Sports Stadium, here.
Basketball team: Harmanpreet Kour, Kiran Kour, Komal, Rimjhim, Radhika, Shallu, Khushi Verma, Nandini Gill, Priyanka, Pratibha Takotra, Lakshika Jamwal and Anupriya, while Hritik Khullar and Nitesh Atri will accompany the team as coach and manager respectively.
Badminton team: Harsha Sharma, Aarushi, Varinda Badyal, Niharika Mahajan and Sumritika Bharti. Shivam Gupta and Amrita Sharma will accompany the team as coach and assistant coach respectively, while Jeevan Lal is also part of the team as manager.
Raj Kumar Bakshi, Vikas Karlopia, Ravish Vaid, Gagan Kumar, Vikram Jamwal and Jeevan Bhagat were among the prominent present during the flagging off event at University of Jammu.
