Junior XI Kathua defeats Elite Blues by 114 runs in inaugural tie

JAMMU, Jan 8: Junior XI Kathua defeated Elite Blues by 114 runs in the inaugural tie of the U-19 40 overs Elite Premier League, being organised by Trikuta Cricket Academy at railway ground here today.
Batting first, Junior XI Kathua scored 272 runs by losing all the wickets in 38.3 overs. Kawalpreet Singh and Nikhil scored 52 runs each, while Ritesh, Kanav and Nishank scored 47, 30 and 27 runs respectively.
From Elite Blues, Avinash took 5 wickets, while Abhay, Dhrub, Manitvya, Amit and Aditya scalped 1 wicket each.
In reply, Elite Blues failed to chase the target and bundled out at 158 runs by losing all the wickets in 37.3 overs. Abhay Tandon scored 74 runs, while Manitvya Sharma and Dhruv Singh Parmar scored 32 and 17 runs respectively.
From the bowling side, Manit, Kanav, Sachin and Vansh took 2 wickets each while Kawalpreet took 1 wicket.
Kawalpreet of Junior XI Kathua was adjudged as Man of the Match for his brilliant performance.
The officials during the match were Deepak Singh, Pankaj Garnal and Sujit Kumar.
On the occasion, Surjeet Singh former Ranji Trophy player and Selector of JKCA was present as chief guest, who interacted with the players and motivated them to participate in sports in true sportsman spirit.
The Tournament is being organized by Trikuta Cricket Academy in association with Elite Club.
