JAMMU, Nov 26: Drubbing PAU University Ludhiana in a close contest by 3 wickets in the quarterfinals, University of Jammu’s Employees cricket team sealed berth in the semifinals in the ongoing 17th All India Vice Chancellors T-20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by Shivaji University Kohlapur in Maharashtra. Batting first, PAU Ludhiana scored a fighting total of 153 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Ajay top scored with 45 runs, while Simarjit Singh contributed 36 runs to the total. From JU, Sumit Sharma took 4 important wickets, while Aliyas took 3 wickets. Pawan Singh and skipper Rajesh Salhotra claimed 2 and 1 wickets respectively.
In reply, JU chased the target in 19.2 overs. Shammi Bhagat scored valuable 45 runs, while Deepak contributed 20 runs to the total. Rajesh Salhotra, Sumit Sharma and Avtar Sharma scored 15 runs each. Sumit Sharma was declared as the man of the match.
