JU organises Career Counselling prog in Electronics

JAMMU, May 9: Post Graduate Department of Electronics, University of Jammu in collaboration with Employment Information Cum Advisory Bureau (EIAB), Department of Lifelong Learning (DLL), today organised a Career Counselling and guidance lecture for M.Sc Electronics students in the department of Electronics, here.
The theme of the programme was “Multiple Avenues in Electronics”.
In his inaugural address, Prof Rakesh Vaid, Head of the Department (Electronics), stressed on the need of organising such programmes for the benefit of students. He further elaborated on the various activities undertaken by the department and advised the students to actively participate in these events.
Dr Kavita Suri, Director DLL in her speech highlighted the objectives of organising career counselling programmes.
She apprised the students about various programmes run by DLL.
She also presented the copies of EIAB-DLL brochure edited by Dr Rewa Khajuria, Counsellor, EIAB to Prof Vaid.
The special resource person was Abhinav Gupta who is one of the alumni of Electronics department and is presently working as a Lead Consultant in Infosys Technologies, Bangalore.
He is having experience of more than seventeen years in the IT sector.
He said in the present era of booming of Science and Technology, Electronics has a huge scope worldwide and the students should reap the benefits of this boom in Electronics too.
Other faculty members who were present on the occasion included Prof Susheel Sharma, Prof Parveen Lehna, Dr Rockey Gupta and Dr Usha Parihar.
