JAMMU, Mar 10: Prof Manoj Dhar, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu felicitated Shivika Thakur and Seerat Baji of the Debating team, University of Jammu who represented India in 13th South Asian Universities Festival (SAUFEST) held at Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra under the aegis of Association of Indian Universities (AIU), recently.
(SAUFEST) is a prestigious International Youth Festival in which the winners of the National Level Youth Festival get opportunity to exhibit their talent in various activities.
Shivika Thakur and Seerat Baji won first prize both in 34th North Zone and National Level Youth Festival and got the opportunity to participate in SAUFEST along with students from India, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Mauritius and Afghanistan.
Both girls received accolades for their thought provoking debate for and against the topic, ‘Artificial Intelligence is a Bane to the World’.
Prof Dhar appreciated their participation and wished them success in their future endeavours.
Prof. Rajni Dhingra, Registrar was also present on the occasion, who complimented the students.
Prof Jasbir Singh, Dean Students Welfare along with Prof Yash Pal Sharma, Chairman Campus Cultural Committee and Prof Anupama Vohra, Co-Chairperson, Campus Cultural Committee also congratulated the team for their excellent performances at this International platform.
Dr Sadaf Shah, Teacher In-charge who accompanied the team to Kurukshetra and Sumeet Sharma (Drama Instructor) were also present on the occasion.
