JP World School celebrates 10th Annual Day

JAMMU, Jan 8: JP World School Jammu celebrated its 10th Annual Day at General Zorawar Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu, here today.
The students showcased their talent in the form of spectacular extravaganza wherein senior school and junior school students presented ‘Guldasta’ and “Fiesta” respectively.
Kavinder Gupta, Speaker, J&K Legislative Assembly graced the occasion as the chief guest, while Squadron Leader, Rajinder Singh Chib (VSM ), former Minister was the guest of honour.
The other dignitaries present on the occasion included Mehboob Iqbal, Ajay Singh Jamwal, Anjali Sharma, Director All India Radio, Jai Kumar Sharma, Director Colleges, Prof Dhian Singh Bhau, Director Distance Education, Dr Aarti Bakshi- HoD, Department of Psychology, Dr. Panna Manhas Choudhary- Chairperson,  JP World School, Ashok Singh Manhas- Managing Trustee, Dr Goldi Mahajan and Aditya Mahajan.
The audience was enthralled by the rich spectrum of the show that included the mass participation of over 600 students which was based on the theme ‘Celebrating Diversity’. Through it, JPians saluted the diversity of our state in the form of musical drama which plunged the audience deep into the rich and varied culture of J&K.
The proceedings of the event commenced with lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the chief guest, followed by Ganesh Vandana presented by the grade 4 students.
The Principal of the School, Jitinder Singh Hundal in his address welcomed the distinguished guests and highlighted the scholastic and co-scholastic achievements of the school during the session 2016-17 which were applauded by the assemblage.
The young achievers of the school were awarded by the chief guest and the guest of honour.
The students who scored perfect 10 CGPA in Grade 10th and those who qualified KVPY 2016 were awarded with a cash prize of Rs.15000 each as CNS and Choudhary Rampal Scholarship respectively.
In his address, Kavinder Gupta congratulated the management and appreciated the children for their earnest endeavours and urged them to uphold the traditions and values of our country.
RS Chib also spoke on the occasion, while the function concluded with the vote of thanks presented by Saranjeet of Grade 6, followed by the National Anthem.
