JAMMU, July 21: J&K’s ace speedball player and coach, Sunny Nanda represented the Country in the men’s doubles category along with Gurmanjeet Singh and won the 2nd rank in the prestigious International Speedball Competition.
Along with Sunny Nanda, a team of 24 players participated in the Competition at New Delhi and vied for the top honours.
In men’s senior category, Sunny Nanda and Gurmanjeet Singh got silver medal for the Nation, while Sahil Janjua won bronze in singles event. Amit Kour and Sonika Gupta claimed bronze in solo and singles event, while Aditya and Mansi also clinched bronze in mixed doubles event.
In junior category, Suryansh and Adeev won gold medal in doubles event, while Aryaman and Amritansh claimed silver medal.
Prakash Singh bagged bronze in singles event, while Ajay Singh and Tasleema Jaan claimed 4th place in solo event.
The others players included Shivam Tikko, Sidharth, Aryan Kangotra ,Janvi Sharma, Nakul Gupta, Bhoomika Gupta, Pranay Gupta, Rahul Meenia, Kulbushan Sharma and Manpreet Kour.
Sunny Nanda, Gurmanjeet Singh, Sahil Janjua and Ajay Singh have been selected for 29th World Speedball Championship to be held at Egypt in the month of October, 2017.
Eight countries took part in the International Championship.
