JAMMU, June 29: The Annual General Body Meeting of Jammu and Kashmir Rifle Association (JKRA) was held today at Jammu Golf Club, bringing together key members of the shooting community from across the Union Territory.
The meeting was presided over by Dilbag Singh, Founder Patron of JKRA and former DGP, who emphasized JKRA’s next mission to expand the sport to rural areas. “Every child-whether from a city or a hamlet-deserves the chance to aim high,” he said, stressing the importance of inclusive sports development.
President Surinder Singh Sodhi thanked the stakeholders and reiterated JKRA’s commitment to grassroots development, supported by Khelo India and the J&K Sports Council. Chairman Kuldeep Singh Jamwal reflected on JKRA’s journey since 2005, from no formal shooting ranges to multiple functioning ranges across districts.
The AGM also included the announcement of Sharat Chander Singh as Interim Working General Secretary. A two-minute silence was observed in memory of late Amjad Mirza, former General Secretary, for his contributions to the association. The Annual Activity Report was presented by CEO Sharat Chander Singh, followed by a formal vote of thanks.
The meeting was attended by Ashok Kumar, Sohan Lal Sharma, Col. Sukhbir Singh, Paramjeet Singh, Arun Mansotra, Manupratap Singh Wazir, Rahul Bakshi, Rajesh Virdhi, Nirmaljit Singh, Shuminder Singh, Vishal Mehra, Vineet Gupta, Sharuti Sharma, Anupam Sambyal, Dhruv Gupta, Vijay Kumar, Surjeet Singh, and Tarun Dev Singh.
