KATHUA, Dec 21: Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) XI and JKAP XI scripted resounding victories over their rivals to advance in the ongoing 3rd Police Martyrs’ Memorial North Zone T20 Cricket Championship, being jointly organised by the District Police Kathua and Shaheed Welfare Committee Kathua at Sports Stadium, here.
In the first match, JKAP XI defeated Atman Sports Club Jammu by 6 wickets in an easy contest. Batting first, Atman Club scored 123 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 7 wickets in the process.
JKAP XI chased the target in 17.5 overs by losing 4 wickets in the process, thus won the match by 6 wickets. Ishtaq of the winning team was declared man of the match for scoring 36 runs and taking one wicket. He was presented a cash prize of Rs 1500.
In another match, JKP XI thrashed Mohali Cricket Club in a one-sided affair. Batting first, Mohali Club bundled out for a paltry total of 55 runs in 14.5 overs, which was easily chased by JKP XI in 10 overs. For taking 3 important wickets and scoring 12 runs Rakesh Koul was adjudged man of the match and received a cash prize of Rs 1500 for the same.
